My Return To This Blog

It has been a long time since I posted here. Almost a month in fact. I had something in the works, something pretty big that I was pretty excited about. Maybe I'll post it eventually, but I dunno, because the same reason that I never posted it is the same reason why I feel kinda sad every time I think about posting anything here: I was on lunch break at work working on that very post when I found out that Leonard Nimoy had died.

I'll talk more about my feelings on that soon, and I definitely have something in the works again, a review of the new live action Cinderella that will be up Thursday or Friday. However, I wanted to announce that despite the rough feelings that I'm still subconsciously projecting onto this blog, I'm back. And what better day to come back than on April Fools Day, the day when the internet explodes with fun and fantastical pranks in the form of fake news posts, videos, and web articles, like this one:

I have a feeling that today will be fun. Maybe I'll even post a list of my favorite pranks at some point after the day is over. It could be interesting.

A Little Something Awesome - Uptown Funk In Cartoon Voices

You guys know how much I love bringing you guys awesome videos. In keeping with that, I'd like to share a video that I saw today for the first time on the Phillip DeFranco Show. A fantastic young voice actor, Mikey Bolts, performs Uptown Funk in the voices of characters from Family Guy, American Dad, and King of the Hill, and he does so pretty much flawlessly. Even if you aren't a fan of these shows, the video is worth watching just due to the sheer level talent on display. Check it out, and come back soon for a true, full length Something Awesome.

A Little Something Awesome - BuzzFeed on YouTube

Not everything that BuzzFeedVideos on YouTube does is great. Some of it is actually pretty dumb. But then they go and put out some really fantastic educational gems, going above and beyond their occasional health tips. The latest of these is the following video which shows what Disney Princesses would have looked like in real life, including accurate historical dress and a few bits of trivia:

Even more interesting, though, was another similar video that they released recently chronicling how the "ideal woman" has changed throughout the years, featuring one of the most diverse groups of models ever assembled:

I found both videos to be very interesting, informative, and impressing, and that's enough for me to call them awesome. What do you think?

A Little Something Awesome - Fallon Does Fresh Prince!

There has been a distinct lack of overt awesome lately. You all should know by now that I'll claim "awesome" at the drop of a slightly interesting hat, but seriously I haven't seen any awesome movies lately, or heard any really awesome news, or anything, and after the huge disappointment that was the last play of Sunday's Superbowl, the (kinda only okay) movie TV spots (they weren't even really trailers, guys, how disappoint!) which cropped up amongst the commercials are forever tainted for me, as they aired during that game.

So here I am, thinking that I'll actually have to start keeping my word and posting my own content here just to get an update out, and then I see this pop up on YouTube! Enjoy, and come back (hopefully sooner rather than) later for another Something Awesome.

A Little Something Awesome - Fallout vs. Skyrim

As an apology for doing uh, well, nothing here so far this week (sorry), here is a great video posted to andrewmfilms on YouTube just yesterday which pits the protagonists of two really great Bethesda games, the post-apocalyptic Fallout 3 and the fantastical The Elder Scrolls Five: Skyrim, against each other. It doesn't quite go the way I wanted it to, but it is still an amazing display of talent, and of respect for two iconic video games. Take a look, and come back later for another Something Awesome.
