My Return To This Blog

It has been a long time since I posted here. Almost a month in fact. I had something in the works, something pretty big that I was pretty excited about. Maybe I'll post it eventually, but I dunno, because the same reason that I never posted it is the same reason why I feel kinda sad every time I think about posting anything here: I was on lunch break at work working on that very post when I found out that Leonard Nimoy had died.

I'll talk more about my feelings on that soon, and I definitely have something in the works again, a review of the new live action Cinderella that will be up Thursday or Friday. However, I wanted to announce that despite the rough feelings that I'm still subconsciously projecting onto this blog, I'm back. And what better day to come back than on April Fools Day, the day when the internet explodes with fun and fantastical pranks in the form of fake news posts, videos, and web articles, like this one:

I have a feeling that today will be fun. Maybe I'll even post a list of my favorite pranks at some point after the day is over. It could be interesting.

TV Reviews - Doctor Who Christmas Special 2014: Last Christmas

So I’m basically throwing my very recently decided-upon schedule out the window by now, but at least I’m adhering to the spirit of the schedule by updating when I can. So yeah, Last Christmas by Steven Moffet.

A Little Something Awesome - Musicals

Well, it's that time of year, the time when studios release musicals for Christmas, even though they have nothing to do with Christmas. Which is fine with me. I love musicals. Expect reviews of a few musicals here, soon. However, a bit disappointingly, the two musicals to hit theaters this holiday season, Into The Woods and Annie are getting, uh, mixed reviews. And that's being fair. I haven't seen either yet, but the prospects aren't encouraging. So let's look at something that is encouraging, these videos which I stumbled across online recently of cast members from Grease, one of the most iconic musicals of all time, reuniting and performing together! They can be found a few places online, as well as on, I believe, the 2002 edition of the DVD version of the film. Check them out, check out the movie, and come back later for another Something Awesome.

Merry Christmas!!!

Another year, and another Christmas come and gone. I love Christmas, because it is the best chance to see my family all year. And because I get stuff. But mostly the family thing. Today was a particularly fun Christmas. Doctor Who and Guardians of the Galaxy, followed by dinner. Dinner last night as well. And lots of gifts. I've had a rough time recently due to things that I'm not ready to post about, but today and last night gave me a new set of happy memories to cherish. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, cherish your memories of friends and family while you can, because each moment comes only once. And remember, I love all you guys, and want to wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy Holidays.

Happy Halloween!!

My personal favorite holiday is coming to a close. With no parties to go to or anything like that, I spent my time trolling the halls of Target for halfway decent scarey decorations for next year, listening to Creepypasta readings from the likes of MrCreepyPasta, CreepyPastaJr, and MissShadowLovely on YouTube, and watching some game footage of great horror games that I am too cheap to own, like Amnesia: the Dark Descent, and Five Nights at Freddy's, and it was a blast!

How did you spend your Halloween? Did you dress up? Maybe hit a haunted house or two? Or did you do something like I did, and maybe check out some of the great Halloween content online, or watch some scarey movies? Let me know in the comments below, and have a happy Halloween! And hey, because I like you all so much, I'm gonna help you have a happy Halloween by sharing with you one of my favorite Halloween videos ever, the classic Disney cartoon The Skeleton Dance edited to the tune of the fantastically fun and frightening song Spooky Scarey Skeletons. It's two Halloween classics for the price of one! Enjoy!

A Little Something Awesome - Mother's Day!

While I didn't get to do anything with any of the mothers in my life today (I had to work), it's Mother's Day again, and the least I can do is acknowledge that. Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms, grandmothers, stepmothers and foster moms out there. Today is yours. Enjoy it.

Also, on a side note, this entry made me realize that I've had this blog for a little over a year so, you know, good for me.

Anyway, what's your mom like? Drop a story in the comments, and come back later for another Something Awesome.

A Little Something Awesome? - April Fools' Day

I put the question mark up there in the title because I used to love April Fools' Day. I could never ever think of even one good prank to do, but I loved it anyway. Then social media and online advertising got in on the entire April Fools' Day thing, at for a couple of years, ya know, when we still didn't see it coming, I thought that was awesome, too. Now, though, I'm starting to think that the entire online April Fools' Day social media thing is just played out and a little sad. I dunno. Is April Fools' Day awesome or not? Let me know in a comment and check in later for more awesomeness, or potential awesomeness.

Christmas 2013

Fun and family and lots of good cheer
Has made up my holiday season this year
I sit here and realize there's one more thing to do
To share some of that good cheer with all of you
So as midnight rolls 'round, I just want to say
Merry Christmas to all and a happy holidays

Showin' the Mom Love

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there! Spent a day with two of my favorite moms today. First I went down to see my mom, and we caught her up on the current season of Doctor Who, which was awesome. Then I went to see my grandma and grandpa, and we watched Tiger win at golf (which put us in bad moods, as we are not Tiger fans), so we cheered ourselves up by watching dumb movies. Mermaids, with Winona Ryder and Cher, which is just weird, Nine Months with Julianne Moore and Hugh Grant, which was funny, only because it was so bad (probably because Chris Columbus directed it), and then Jerry Maguire, which is actually a pretty good movie. It was a great day filled with great people. I hope the rest of you out there had a great Mother's Day as well, whether spent with your mom, spent as a mom, or spent remembering a mom fondly.
